On the 17 – 18th of September, the aviation training centre Baltic Aviation Academy (Vilnius, Lithuania) will participate in Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) hosted in Bangkok, Thailand. Baltic Aviation Academy is set to take part not only in the exhibition but as well in conference by presenting topic entitled ‘Pilot selection: who should be responsible for that?’.

The topic examines different perspectives on who should be responsible for pilot selection as well as difference between procedures and programs of pilot selection, the main pilot selection criterions, benefits and drawbacks of each option, pilot selection trends according to the current market situation, possible solutions for pilot selection and assessment program adaptation.

‘Differently than in the rest of the world, pilot shortage in Asia Pacific is the issue that we are facing at the moment. The pilot selection has become more important than ever – the current students are the basis on which the future reliability and safety of region’s aviation will be built. The topic covers the aspects who has the most competence for conducting such procedures’, said Egle Vaitkeviciute, the Chief Executive Officer of Baltic Aviation Academy.

The goal of APATS 2013 is to address the growth of demand for aviation that continues in Asia and with it the development and expansion of training solutions. Although pilot training is a global issue, there is a particular urgency to meet the growing flight deck crew requirements throughout Asia. The emergence of strong regional training providers, frequently established in partnership with major global partners, is now starting to bear fruit as increasing numbers of locally-trained pilots take their place in the cockpit.

Baltic Aviation Academy invites you to visit Booth 59 at the exhibition where the company’s representatives will be more than willing to introduce all provided services, answer any aviation training-related questions, consult in regard to a number of HR issues in the industry or discuss potential cooperation and partnerships. If you wish to make an individual appointment with a Baltic Aviation Academy representative, please write to [email protected]
